02 Circular road course through the Carinthian Nockberge Mountains – the “Nockalmrunde”

The “Nockalmrunde” is the top tip for road cycling enthusiasts. The original tour ridden by the professionals in the Carinthia Cycle Marathon Bad Kleinkirchheim will lead you amongst other things to the Nockalm Road, through the Biosphere Park region and past Lake Millstätter See.

 

ARBÖ Radmarathon Bad Kleinkircheim - Nockalmrunde - Strecke A

 

 

This demanding course starts in Bad Kleinkirchheim and leads past the golf course to Ebene Reichenau. From here ride along the Nockalm Road to the Glockenhütte. After a further 10 km you will catch sight of the “Karlbad”, the last rural bath of its kind in the Alps. After this you will reach the Eisentalhöhe (over 2000 m), the highest point of this tour. Now head back through the Lieser Valley, past Lake Millstätter See and finally once again over the last ascent back to the starting point in Bad Kleinkirchheim.

The Carinthia Cycle Marathon is a fixed date for all cycling enthusiasts, it takes place very year on the last Sunday in May and is held along two different stretches: Route A is the circular road course through the Carinthian Nockberge Mountains (Tour 02) with a length of 108 km, and Route B is the 63 km tour around Wöllaner Nock (Tour 04).
